Engineering firms throughout USA have developed fairly uniform specifications
for flocculator-type mixers. Each engineering firm has its own special
requirements, such as a preferred mixer brand (or equal) and various specific
requirements. However, most flocculators generally fall under these listed
guidelines. The intent of these specifications is to level the playing
field between mixer suppliers by insuring minimum requirements that will ensure
a satisfactory service life. For large projects, engineering firms are
generally contracted to handle these requirement. This information is
generally useful for existing treatment plants that is interested in either the
